Restaurant Week: Redbones Blues Café

The ambiance at Redbones Blues Cafe, along with their amazing customer service makes it a perfect stop for Restaurant Week. We here at The Food Herald had the honor of getting a sneak peak at what Redbones will be offering for the tastiest week of year. Redbones definitely prides themselves in providing amazing plates, not only in regards to beautiful presentation, but also with mouthwatering flavors.

The first appetizer we were served was the Tropical Garden Salad which was a marriage of the fresh, bright vegetables and a perfectly tangy vinaigrette. Next was the Baked Shrimp stuffed with homemade salted Codfish Pate which was by no means ordinary to the palate with its offer of contrasting textures from the shrimp and codfish and a moderately spicy offset. The sauce with which it was served had cream cheese note and hints of alcohol, and garnish included fresh lettuce and slices of cantaloupe which served as means of support of Redbones’ unique presentation of flavors.

Stuffed Shrimp

 

The shrimp stuffed with homemade salted codfish pate, is by no means ordinary to the palate with contrasting textures from the shrimp and codfish and a moderately spicy offset. The sauce was served with had cream cheese note and hints of alcohol. The dish is served with fresh lettuce and slices of cantaloupe which of course added to the unusual flavors which quite honestly is indicative of Redbones.

New Zealand Baby Lamb Chops
For the main course we were given New Zealand Baby Lamb Chops, which was so filling, it would have you wondering just why they referred to it as ‘baby’. The meat was cooked to perfection; tender and consistently flavorful. For the seafood lovers, Redbones has the the Grilled Whole Sea Snapper with a zesty Lemon Sauce with a delicate sear and delicious Mediterranean flavors for you enjoy. Careful of the few bones as you dig in though.

Sweet Potato Pone
Finally, we got to try their desserts, which we started off with the Sweet Potato Pone. Everyone can appreciate well prepared potato pone, and as if it was not was amazing enough on its own; Redbones pairs it with a warm sweet glaze that will have you tempted to lick the plate! This is obviously the making of a great dessert. Chocolate addicts, don’t pout, order the classy and skillful Decadent Double Chocolate Cake that would have you drooling. The smooth texture and tantalizing chocolate syrup, along with the essence of cherries will have you thanking Redbones for something so beautifully prepared.
