Pizza Please!

Kingston’s newest pizza joint will have you asking for more pizza! Yes, we are talking about none other than Pizza Please! in Village Plaza. Pizza Please! is Jamaica’s only authentic Italian pizza shop; a change we accept with open arms. There is no doubt that all the ingredients are freshly made in house, because as soon as you enter, you’ll smell fresh herbs and spices that are being prepped to end up on your delicious pizza. We had the pleasure of being served by Peter whose cheery personality and bright smile made us feel at home.

Cabbage and Bacon, and Callaloo Pizzas

Pizza is a crowd favorite, and Pizza Please! offers an array of toppings that are not the norm, but will certainly spark your curiosity, and later on satisfy your taste buds. The most interesting toppings we were offered started out with cabbage and bacon. Thin, crispy crust served as the bed to the cabbage topping which was partnered with sprinkles of bacon to bring you back to reality that this is not your ordinary, every day healthy snack. For the ladies out there trying to keep your figure down, this option is great for you. Vegetables and pizza in one? Yes Pizza, Please!

Callaloo Pizza

Another interesting topping which could be appreciated was the callaloo. The tinge of salted callaloo and spices of the Italian sausages; a match made in Italian heaven, add to that the Mozzarella cheese, and get your taste buds ready for a lovely experience. If you want to be a part of a national secret, listen up. The Italian sausage on the callaloo pizza is made especially for Pizza Please. Can you have pizza for breakfast? Well if it’s topped with callaloo and Ackee why not?

4 Cheese and Black Olive , and Margherita Pizzas

Up next, the ultimate cheese pizza; the almighty Margherita! Perfect thin crust topped with rich, thick, tomato sauce and loads of mozzarella cheese. It was delicious to say the least. The herbs and spices in the tomato sauce gave it that authentic flavor which separated it from all other pizzas we previously tried.

4 Cheese and Black Olives Pizza

Cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese! 4 cheeses and Black Olive pizza is one to praise, with the four cheese mash up of Provolone Cheese, Mozzarella, Pepper Jack, Monterrey Jack cheese . If you’re serious about your cheese, you’ll want to try this ooey-goey delight. The generous serving of olives topped on each slice was well appreciated.

Arrabiata, and Rasta Man Pizzas

Vegetarians, we hope you’re reading, because you’ll appreciate Pizza Please! for these options. We tried the Arrabiata pizza, and don’t let the no cheese factor of this pizza deter you from thinking that it’s not delicious. Topped with small cubes of juicy tomatoes, the first bite of this pizza greets you with a crispy crunch of the thin crust which was dusted with a variety of herbs and spices that made the experience enjoyable. Paired with the juices of the tomato pieces was a prominent garlic flavor. Even without cheese, this pizza was fresh and delicately seasoned, leaving no room for a bland moment.

Arrabiata, and Rasta Man Pizzas

And then there was the Rasta man pizza, topped with fresh sweet peppers and onions, delicious quality cheese, and the juicy tomato sauce in between. Again, Pizza Please’s signature could be observed as their super thin crispy crust, which stood up well on its own coming down to the final bites of the pizza. Great option for vegetarians, Rasta man pizza will leave you feeling irie.

Calzone

Are you a fan of the Calzone? Pizza Please! has got you, yet again, with interesting twists to their stuffing. A pocket of dough filled with cheesy meaty goodness! Our calzone was filled with ham, mozzarella cheese and potatoes. To be honest, the inclusion of the irish potato was not a favorite among the team. Its soft texture threw off the balance of the dish. Disclaimer; the same filings are not offered every day.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sweet Pizza

Ever heard of a Sweet Pizza? This must be a new age Italian concept, considering prior to this review, we had never heard of, or experienced it. We had the pleasure of trying a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sweet Pizza. Now, a sweet pizza is essentially a sweet filling between light dough, and covered in powdered sugar. If you don’t like a lot of sweets, this might not be ideal for you. However, if you have a insatiable sweet tooth, it is a new experience you will enjoy and want more of. The same filling is not offered every day, which means Pizza Please! is far from ordinary.

Pizza Please!

All in all, our experience at Pizza Please! was beyond enjoyable. It was certainly a breath of fresh air from the typical pepperoni and tomato sauce pattern offered elsewhere. Be sure to visit them for a culinary experience you will cherish.

  1. I like the article and I support the vision that the owner has for serving pizza in Jamaica. I hope that the does continue to flourish as it does provide a different view on pizza from what we’re use to.
